Do you find yourself squinting in order to see your screen properly, or getting dizzy looking at big icons and text on your desktop, not to mention scrolling up, down, left and right? Not all computer users have the same preferences for their display settings. Adjusting the resolution may vary on the size of the monitor and the person who uses the computer.

Resolution varies on different types of monitors.  To set your preferred resolution settings you may follow the instructions below:

Windows XP

  1. Right click on the desktop then click Properties
  2. Click on Settings tab
  3. Under the Screen resolution, choose your preferred display settings.
  4. Click Apply
  5. Display will initially adjust and a pop-up window appears asking if you are sure that you want to change the resolution.
  6. Click Yes or No if you would like to choose a different one.
